Monster Island, the Asylum’s 2019 mockbuster was released at the same time that Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The film is about an isolated island that has the same name as the island and where a creature lives.


Because the budget for this asylum film is (Monster Island (2019) Asylum movie) so low (about the equivalent of a large children’s meal), they chose to shoot only a few scenes and all of the key moments with the cast's A-listers during lunch. The Asylum is not a kaiju film.
